This is my concept for an extraterrestrial spider to roam across rocky landscapes. The orbit elliptical legs driven by a crankshaft. The crank shaft is not the typical 90 degree crank but a 45 degree crank allowing the legs to actually lift off the ground and return at the beginning of each stroke.
